Johan Thunell is an artist that I adore very much. He is known for his unique heads that are all individually hand-made out of Ceramic clay.

Each head has an individual expression and feel to it: grumpy, happy, confused, high, sad, waiting, in love and you name it and the heads are filled with it. Great to hang on the wall for a surprise visit next to the door or to startle the bathroom guests, wherever you go it’ll see you.

Some have their eyes open some have them closed, some have teeth and some have a closed smirk. The eyes and teeth are made out of porcelain.

I originally had two of this lovely fairy tale poppers, but unfortunately one went back to its story. The price ranges around 200 euro per head and can be found in different gallery’s. I bought mine during an art fair called “Kunst op de Brink” in a small Dutch art village named Laren, who knows Johan might return next year.
